Highlights of the tour are: |
the world famous Chocolate Hills the Philippine Tarsier (smallest primates in the world) Alona Beach, known for its white sand beach/dive spots “island hopping” with the traditional pump boats Camiguin Island and its 5 volcanoes the tropical beauty of the Visayas |
The Central Philippines is made up of the archipelago of tropical islands called the Visayas, including Leyte (Imelda’s home province), Cebu and Bohol.
Our 14 day cycling odyssey explores these three larger islands plus a number of smaller ones too, including Camiguin, also called the Island of fire because of its volcanic character fabled for the magical powers believed to be possessed by some of her residents!
Amongst the highlights are visits to the Chocolate Hills, the Philippine Tarsier – the world’s smallest primate – Alona Beach, renowned for its fine white sand and excellent offshore diving (recommended extension for divers), island hopping by traditional outrigger banca, and the Visayas’ all over tropical beauty.
Bohol is more than Chocolate Hills and Tarsiers. For sure, this are the most known attractions, but we will also encounter jungle vegetation, adventure parks and rice terraces. And Alona Beach with its white sand beach and crystal clear water for sure is another highlight on our trip.
Biliran an Island off the beaten track. With its rice terraces, its waterfalls and hot springs Biliran is an adventure lovers paradise.
Leyte, is one of the biggest Islands of the Visayas. It offers great cycling with its paved traffic free roads. Some awesome coastal rides are awaiting us on our tour.
Camiguin is another Island off the beaten track. The so called Island of Fire because of its 8 volcanoes. Cold and hot springs and waterfalls are some highlights beside the unique vegetation.
Cebu with Cebu City as the 2nd biggest City in the country is the jump off point for all the Visayan Islands. Great shopping opportunities and a night life with a great music scene is waiting for you.
